This quote below was posted in the "Show us your L322" thread and rather than post there and clutter the pic thread up with chatter I thought I'd start a new thread here.

Congrats on the new [L322] car. They are a great vehicle, and are now very good value.

A month or two back I would have agreed with you but not now. I've been closely watching L322 ads on Carsales and prices have skyrocketed. For example - in general 2011/2012 Vogues were being advertised at around $50G but are now at $70G by both dealers and private sellers. Other L322s' prices of earlier year models have also increased by a lot.

The other factor is that all these Rangies are selling very quickly with ads often being removed within just a couple of days of appearing.

I'd reckon on L322s' being one of the best looking and very desirable cars to come from the Landrover stable but not at the inflated prices being asked TODAY for cars which at best are now 9 years old and at the other end oif the scale are nearly 20 years old.

If your selling it's great, but if your buying it sucks big time [bigsad] much like the real estate market here at the moment ! There still is a 2011 4.4 TdV8 Autobiography for sale here on the Forum, which is great value at $50k and is a country car if anyone is looking [thumbsupbig]

I agree with the price increases. We bought our MY08 TDV8 Lux with 180K, usual things to do, for $21k, about 2 years ago. I notice similar cars for for closer to $30k now. Are these cars heading the way of the Classic’s?

Prices have gone up across the board. It’s bizarre. Have you seen the asking prices of a late used 200 series Sahara?

Yes...and not only Cruisers. The 5.6 petrol Y62 Patrols often took time to sell due to high fuel consumption but not now. Top shelf prices now apply and you have to be quick to get one.

I've also been watching Jeep Wranglers and see 4 year old cars selling for only a couple of thou' less than new price. Crazy!!!![bighmmm]

But I tell you what. Things must be very good in car land because sales people are now very indifferent to potential customers. I've tried for a near new Patrol and when that went sour a new Wrangler. For both dealerships no response to inquiries as well as total indifference.Thing is.....it's a two new car sale. A new car for her indoors and a new fourby for me.

That’s what I’ve heard. Car sales person’s dream.
