My 2012 Disco 4 is throwing a fault that I can't clear. It is FCDM Front Control MSCAN. I have looked through the site and the computer w/shop site and I stuffed if I can find anything that matched it. Has anyone got a clue what it might be as I cannot clear it with the GAP tool.
Thanks Lindsay

A quick google tells me thats the front module that controls headlamps. If the issue remains, any fault reader wont clear it until its fixed. Check the connectors into the headlamps, front loom and and check your headlamps are working. Have you installed LED globes by chance? These shouldnt cause any issues, but you never know. I have attaced an acronym table for you that may help.169980

Thanks Eric, the previous owner replaced the internal lights with LEDs but I don't know if he did anything with the headlights that are all working, I will look at the wiring and check it out. I did google the code but could find no reference to it.
Thanks again Lindsay.

Hi Lindsay, nice to hear from you.
No,i did nothing to the headlights.
Does the vehicle actually throw a code or is it just a code you have seen on the Gap tool?
Just thinking, there was always a code on the Gap tool, but I can't remember what it was, and MR Auto said to ignore it?
Hopefully that is what it is?

Thanks for that info Paul, I went through the w/shop manual looking for a matching code but could not find it. As we are heading up your way in a couple of months, I was concerned that the fault would cause problems. Coming home last night in it I said to my wife "gee its got good lights" her reply was "'it is a beautiful car" so happy wife happy life. Clocked over the 100 ks just recently and has not missed a beat.
Regards Lindsay.

Thats great, yes the lights are bloody good, better than the Defender I recon[biggrin]
We have driven out to the property near Dirranbandi many times after work,650Km,no spotlights needed[biggrin]
I have LED's on the new beast, and amazingly, they are up another level.
Although it hasn't got the handling and ride of the D4,nothing beats Independent suspension and air on all corners, and we knew that when we bought the new one.
Anyway, good to hear all is well.[thumbsupbig]
