With all the bells and whistles on the d3 I thought it would sweep the street while you drove it.

On the way home at 1am, saw the above mentioned Disco doing it's thing. And here I was thinking that some Manager just had a hankering for a New car:

Not sure about that, for this application they may have been better off with a Mitsubishi Canter or Isuzu NPS sized tow vehicle.

Just wait and see if Aus gets the D3 commercial - prob not.
The D3 Commercial would be perfect for me - 2 seats, cargo barrier behind the front seats and all that cargo area - enough for a fridge and a couple of spare 35's!!!

They need to be able to get into Westfields carpark and the Canter or Isuzu won't fit, they do have an Isuzu for other areas but the other 2 vehicles need to get into low clearence areas, the Discos replaced a 3.0ltr Patrol and Navara cause they struggled with the weight of the sweeper and trailer, aspecially the Navara.

I'm absolutely gobsmacked !
Surely a 4.2TD Patrol ute or a 79 Series 'Cruiser would've been cheaper than a D3 ???
Oh, hang on, Nissan only rate the ute at 2.5t towing capacity, yet the wagon is rated at 3.5 tonne, go figure .......

Also had to be auto and seat a minimum of 4 people, something about one person not being able to drive a manual.
Also having the 3.5tonne capacity doesn't mean it will do the job easily.
Like feeding strawberries to pigs if you ask me.
