Morning all,

I have a 1999 Disco 2.

I have a newborn and would like to be able to fit a child seat into my Disco when using it for family trips etc, otherwise it can stay in the Mrs Hyundai.

It doesn't have the isofix points in the back, so would have to secure with the seatbelt.

Can anyone give me a hand in how they did it? Do you retract the seatbelt all the way out before threading it through the base & did you use the top anchor point as well to fasten to the back of the seat?

Thanks in advance!

It’s been a while since my pair fitted child seats but from memory I used to fully extend the seat belt, feed it through the back of the child seat clip it up and then feed it back in till it was tight. The top tether strap was hooked on to the eye and also tightened up.

My D2a has the isofix fittings, but there is a hook on the lower back of the outer seats where I would hook the tether strap and another hook in the centre back roof above the rear door if the child seat is centrally mounted.

Hope this is of some help.

cheers

Steve

I have had 3 child seats in the car at once, currently down to 2. Same as above just feed the belt threw the base then connect the tether to the anchor point. The middle anchor point is on the roof just inside the rear door, and the outside seats are down the back of back rest. The outside seats most likely wont have the hook points, but will it have the holes, just go to any car shop and buy the ones that fit.
