Good Morning All,

I am about to purchase a heavy caravan and will be keen to monitor transmission temperatures.

Have been told that these are good....... iCarsoft LR V3.0 for LandRover/Jaguar-For LandRover/Jaguar-iCarsoft Technology Inc. (https://www.icarsoft.com/Product/s-396-icarsoft_lr_v30_for_landroverjaguar.html)

Does anybody have one, and if so, what are your thoughts?

Cheers, Craig

I’m not sure. I have a GAP IID (not BT) and I’m not sure if it can be left connected permanently. (I have an L322 so things are different in that the GAP uses the message centre screen.)

I do, however, have a Scan Gauge plugged in all the time monitoring coolant and other things - it will display multiple items simultaneously. I wonder if it can monitor gearbox temps.

It’s also much cheaper than the GAP.

If you only want to check temps an OBD2 connector, from eBay, and CarScanner app will do the job. However, I had mine in my D4 for a couple of days and it threw up a heap of errors. After I cleared the errors and removed the Obd2 connector, no more problems. So my suggestion is go the app route, use for a day to get a feel for how the temps react to up hill and down dale, then remove it and just enjoy the trip. After following the temps for a few days, I now tow in Sport mode most of the time and use manual for up steep hills. All good.
