Ok fellas, me again with another post. I know this has been discussed before, and the search function brings up too much information for me to sort thru easily, so I thought I’d ask and hopefully get some simple, direct advice and help. My son and I both feel like we’re driving a bus when we get behind the wheel, and would like to know how easy it is to swap for a smaller one? Can anyone give us advice on exactly what we need to do for a swap? Is it simple to do, or should we not bother? Can you show us what you’ve done? Thanks for any info and help,
Pete and Dylan.

Very simple to do. Just a single nut under the centre of the wheel which can be accessed pretty easily depending which you have. You just need to count the splines on the stalk to figure out which you have (lots of pumas have 48 spline some 36 splines) then can search for wheel bosses and matching wheels.
Check out moto-lita or Momo retro wheels - you can get different sizes too both the 14 and 15 inches will be smaller than the stock wheel and I think look pretty good.
I've got a Momo retro as per the pic. Excuse that it somehow uploaded upside down!

I would recommend the 15 inch wheel over the 14 inch wheel. Personal preference but 14 is pretty small and my mate with 14 on his puma would rather a 15.

It's noticeably smaller at first - obviously you get used to it - but is a bit heavier in tight turns etc.

I went a 15" OMP off road/rally wheel in suede with no dish.
The spoke design keeps the dash legible.
14" is getting to small for off road work IMO (and I've used tiny Momo's on race cars) plus it obscures the dash too much in a Tdi/TD5, and I'm guessing the same in a Tdci.

15" is perfect. I have the Nimbus from I think Exmoor trim. You will need to buy a boss as well. I have the slimline 48 spline in a 300 Tdi.

I bought a replacement steering wheel for my TD5 130 - I'm very long and was having difficulties getting in/out and using the clutch!
I bought a 12" wheel online from the UK for about $200 - I can't remember why I went that small but 13" would have been fine. It looks a bit like a racing car wheel but it works fine - I already couldn't see the dash very well and have power steering.
One thing I wasn't expecting is that the way it mounts with the boss results in the wheel being closer to the driver that the stock version. I don't know if this applies to all after-market wheels.

15" Moto-Lita out of the UK for me, fixes the bus steering problem and is good offroad.

What sort of self respecting man doesn't want an extra inch
