D4 stereo

How come the D4 seem to have come out with two quite different screens and stereo's in that one has fewer bigger buttons and is more common with a larger screen that does more features, compared to a smaller screen with less features and many more buttons. I thought maybe the smaller screen was for older D4's but some 2013 feature this smaller screen which is useless. Would have been nicer if all D4's came out with the larger screen and ease of use.

Is this the same question as to why some cars come with halogen lights or HID, some come with E-diff and others not? It’s called option to give model price differentiation. Your comment about the screen could be applied to any upgradable component on the vehicle [emoji2369]

That looks like the dash on a mates D4 which is the same 2016 as mine. Looks horrid actually with that little screen. I thought ours was a base model as I didn’t want the garbage toys like wandering lane stuff etc. but it appears his has even less like no reverse camera and an entirely different sound system.
Not that a super sound system means anything to me as I have to listen to the navigator when on the road.......

I have owned two different D4's and one had the bigger screen and the other the smaller screen. That pic is off the web not mine. I know some things are upgradable not looking for that just a observation. Just seemed weird that even in 2013 they were still offering that smaller screen. I know you can buy upgraded units as well. Not sure if you can swap these two units out and interchange them or not. Just be aware that some vehicles came out with the more nicer and more interactive larger screen compared to the smaller.

Yes, even with the larger screen though some options just aren’t there either.
