Those key barrels are common and simple generic keys. There’s a number stamped relating to the key you should be able to see. Same system as roof racks. LR roof racks are Thule and that’s where they send you if you lose your LR keys. Try and get replacement keys from a Thule roof rack shop. Ring and see if they have the key relating to the number on your tow hitch barrel.

Ive got similar keys at home for my security window winders which happen to also fit my roof racks.

That's great info. A mate of mine has one like this with the 4.4 and borrows my trailer often.

He was leaving the key in the lock after putting the 'tongue' on and I convinced him that was a bad idea. Guaranteed he'll have lost it by now,

I took mine out at a mates farm to do some 4WD and left it on the ground near the house. Sure enough mate drove over it and snapped key off. Now is permanently unlocked but works fine. Quite handy not having to find the key ever again.

What I didn't say was that ice heads were pulling the pins on normal towbars and trying to get cash at the wreckers for the tongues. That's why I told my mate to lock it.

What's a genuine LR RRS one worth?

cheers, DL

The twist and pull out action of the LR unit is hard enough for the initiated let alone the uninitiated.
