Evening All,
I have just purchased a secondhand 2011 Disco 4 2.7 with 165K on the clock. I have carried out a service at home and for the life of me cant work out how to reset the "Service Required" dash message on start-up.
I have searched and tried the ignition on, drivers door open, bonnet open and hold the brake and accelerator pedal for 10 or 60 seconds with no luck.
Can someone point me in the right dirrection to reset it at home without a good scan tool? I only have a basic Engine Data Scan at the moment.
Standby for another thread later in the week with a few questions on what I should be servicing / checking over the next few months :-)
Thanks in advance,
Chris

One second on Google came up with this.
Procedure to check/reset service status, distance counter on a Land Rover Discovery 3.
 Switch ignition OFF.
Press and Hold left instrument panel reset button, switch ignition ON to position I (accessories).
Keep reset button pressed for approximately 5 seconds until the LCD displays RESET SIA.

What a lot of BS to go through. I wonder if you have to hold your mouth correctly.

If you'd like to send me a PM with your normal email address, I'll send you my spreadsheet for my now departed MY10 D4 2.7 which will highlight most points for you to consider

My service reminder is turned off. I’m quite capable of remembering the oil changes. I imagine the IID Tool can set this also?

Yes if you’ve got the tool they can do a few things. I’ve got a workshop tool so that does most of it. The manual way to reset is also another way to go but it resets as per factory recommendation.

Hi Gavin,
I've just purchased a 2010 D4 (L319) and will be doing some basic service items myself too. Have just replaced engine oil, filter, cabin filters etc, fuel filter. Next will be Transmission pan (swapping plastic to metal) and new trans fluid.
Would really appreciate a copy of the spreadsheet, please. Will drop you my email in a PM.
Thanks very much
