How good are discos?! First trip away with the new (old) girl upto sandy cape just north of jurien bay last weekend.

Prefect weather, no crowds, didn't break down and disco even got its first scalp! Recovered my mates Colorado bogged upto the door handles [emoji1787][emoji106] good times.

Can honestly say i wish i had bought one of these years ago.
V8 + auto + beach = good times [emoji41]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210608/88ce14203b4cd8990d96fca85508a839.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210608/97e66452d326688c9ca92858dfa0668c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210608/26ace85eda8ba2cbc1c1e848514d90c0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210608/826ed5a362d6e9146ecba9a5b4181cf5.jpg

They are good. The traction control and CDL work well. I have been on some hairy tracks and been ok.

Shame on me, I sold mine a couple of years back and have been trying to buy it back ever since. The new owner is a mate who neglects it, doesn't service it properly, hammers it, but loves it as much as I did and wont sell it back. I am secretly hoping it will break down (but it wont, even at 370000 kms) and he can't fix it so I can end up with it again.

Totally agree. I still absolutely love mine. Not saying its perfect, but I just love it and have done so many cool things with it over the years.

It's like a project that there is always something else to develop or try to improve for what I want.

I look at my disco, the styling, the features, the tech available in a 17 year old car. And I'm blown away. I'm pushing 280,000kms on mine and it makes me wonder just how amazing this car would have been from new.

Don't think I'll be selling mine any time soon.

They were great from new. Coming from a 150kw 4WD at the time, which was as powerful as they were coming, the Disco2 didn't have the most powerful motor, but offroad with CDL, I really think nothing came close to it. The traction control was a total game changer despite some negative reviews and with ACE they flexed so much offroad and drove like it was on rails when onroad. Split climate was fantastic, silky smooth transmission. I thought it was peerless. Of course tech moves on and 4WD's get better in all areas, but I still think they're a pretty outstanding machine eveb today.

Makes me laugh when the toyo sycophants tell me how advanced the Toyota's Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (known as e-KDSS) is, advanced? Yep they made to 1999...
