Can anyone tell me what this is?

When I removed the top hose from radiator it fell out of hose.

There is a plastic bit that is inside hose where another smaller hose goes into it the other half is still in there.

I don't understand. Why would there be another smaller hose inside the top hose?

as in a tee where there are 2 smaller hoses that go into main hose

In the third pic, the curved edge looks like it's broken off a T-piece - it being the vertical part of the T.

Fully agree there Ron. Question is where and why. It cam out of top hose.

Except my D2 doesn't have one of these.

I have just finished removing the engine and all cooling system components are stock standard as it left the factory.

its a former or part there of, or at least it was.

Most likely it will have come from a hose that has a branch in it. Replace the hose that lost it, while its not important for the integrity of the hose the bit thats left in there will work against the hose with the engine vibrations and can chew out the inner lining.
