Who is up for a a real G4 orange, maybe runing from early evening to early hours.

All those camel trophy vids just a walk in the park compared to this one. who is in and who are the navs, 4 trucks, 2 must have a front mounted winch. Sorry no followers on this one.

All in the planning, who wants to have a go.

Discoute and steinzy "HE WILL BE SORRY"

Mick G has to be in for it. whos his nav ?

post up boys and girls.

A trip of epic nature,

Vehicles will be scrutinised prior to exceptance.

Haha yeah that would be great Bolts!

It's all good I stole an extra bit of wire that was in some guys trailer at rover park the other weekend..so if breaks i can fix again:D

But looking under the car on the weekend I noticed the bottom trans mount is broken..thats prolly why the engine one's break so easy. See how it goes when I change that one

OK we have a trip,

Discoute - Steinzy Lockers Front and rear winch.
Mick G - Bolts Lockers
Deranged - Loadeddisco Lockers and Winch
Camo - Outlaw Winch and attitude " this pair will be interesting "

This trip will be run in between 8 and 12 weeks time at a new area to be anounced as we get closer to the trip.

There are some areas that can be viewed but most of it will be hard to get to. Lots of rock and gully runs with steep climbs. The gully runs are one way only no turning back. this will need to be a team effort to get all vehicles through.

We will set up camp in the afternoon and start the run at early evening. A good incab hand held spot light will good.

glen

We may take one more vehicle but this is no walk in the park. Expect a 2.5 hour drive from the gold coast.

Travis can come along some conditions though.

You will need min 33" tyres. There are rocks bigger than your car here.
A good nav "matt"
And as posted There are tracks that must be completed.
And if all other teams are ok with 5 vehicles.

If you have ever been on a Logan Districs November Extreme run. This is the amount of diffculty you will encounter. Nothing we can't beat.

Okay as far as I know there is a tentative date for the 2nd & 3rd September. Mick is going to look at it next week and confirm it but by all accounts we have Frazer on the 15th so makes sense to do the G4 2 weeks before.

Sorry - another thing if we are going to do a Sunday pre G4 trip planning and recovery run then I would suggest we do it on the 26th August the weekend before?? Any ideas or suggestions to this, also where to have it. I would say my place but my front lawn is flat and no trees, unles you want to winch of the house:eek:  but we can bbq at the back. Any other ideas form the other G4 attend's.

Actually 9-10th September seems to work better on the calendar (keeping at least one free weekend in between weekend trips) with the pre-G4 vehicle check on the 3rd September.

Vehicle Check will probably be at Ormeau... i'll bring out the bbq etc. then we can have a good look at the recovery points and check flexing etc. on a couple of the tracks.

The tracks we're going to for the G4 Night Run are around a 2.5hr drive from the Gold Coast but as the run is starting around 8pm, no real reason it needs to be a complete weekend.

Will confirm dates shortly ;)

Apologies for the lack of involvement from your Trip Coordinator over the last few weeks - hectic and all over the place to say the least.

Anyway, back now and ready for some action. 8-9th or 9-10th seems to be the go for this one, any preference for the Friday or Saturday night and we'll go with the most popular.

I'm keen as mustard for this one but given the prospect of some of the terrain plus I only have 1 locker and 32" tyres (and massive spring sag) I am 90% confirmed - just want to chat to Glen first and pass the pre trip insepction.;) Being over cautious i'm sure but everyone has to make it through these sections otherwise it's a long night for all in attendance.

Anyway, can't wait, 8-9 suits me better, what's the thoughts on accomodation or are we just driving through the whole night!!

Aye, Mick

The 9th looks like a good start day. I think we need to set up a camp area for tea coffee and sleep. I would not like to think anyone would crash on the way home due to lack of sleep, beside that I think you may like to have a drive on the sunday for a few hours. It's amazing what you see during the day retracking the night run. May be an opertunity on the sunday for other club members to join us for a drive. Welcome home Mick. I will be doing a run to this area in the next few weeks to run through some new tracks and testing the new lockers on the black truck, If anyone wants join in post up on this thread.
