The spherical vacumm tank in my Isuzu County only has one hose connected, but two connections ( holes ) and the unplugged hole is letting air in. Is it supposed to be like this, or am I missing a hose for something.
The brakes seem fine, so the pump is at least faster than the leak. The workshop manual mentions the existance of a tank, but that's all.
Any help appreciated.
Bruce.

NO , any hole should be plugged.
Did the car have aircon at some time? the driver for a flap motor is usually what comes off the sphere .

OoooR, thinking back a looooong way the V8 used to have a hot air flap on the air intake to divert air from over the exhaust manifold for warm up.
Seeing you talk of a vacuum pump , I assume yours is diesel, but maybe long ago it had one also.

The brakes are often ok with a leak, for a single application. Pump the pedal while idling, see if you use up the vacuum.

Bingo on the AirCon Philip. It probably worked at some point in its life, but not now :-(
I'll plug the hole and see if the brakes are better, cos thinking back, there were times when the peddle was harder than normal :)
Thanks heaps for the help guys.
Bruce.
