Gardening with my Defender!

Removing the trees and shrubs at the other half’s place so the new high garage can be built to accomodate my 110, after we jump through the local Councils collection of hoops.😳

The winch with a double line pull, off a single pulley block back to the vehicle made removal of the entrenched trees a lot easier. One of those rewarding times where I felt like tipping a can of ‘Solo’ over myself.

A job well done and jeez I love my Defender!

Excellent gardening tool. I pulled out a japonica bush about 1.5m high the other week. Had three 'stems' coming from the root and although I parked the Def with brakes on, in gear and front wheels in the open gutter outside the house the winch pulled the Def up that gutter and the japonica held. I dug around a bit and found there was one root approx half an inch in full tension. Cut that with the hatchet and it came out a charm.

I was surprised by how strong a seemingly small root can be in tension! Still, it would have been a right old pain doing all that by hand and back!

Pretty good at pulling out privet and cestrum too… and pushing over the odd black wattle ;-)
