it's either been removed by Google for not meeting certain requirements, which is possible as they are always updating them, or the developer has removed it for some reason.

I wasn't interested because it's so much easier to access AULRO on my device by simply logging in through a browser. My devices make that a no brainer with their screen real estate. But I can address some of your issues.
I cannot speak for goggle play as I don't have anything to do with that mob, but the store has apparently dumped it too. Dave ( Inc ) might know more. the store may have dumped it for compatibility issues for the latest OS.
It's impossible for the major players to continue to support apps that don't update. They actually try, really hard, but they cannot do it forever.

It's impossible for the major players to continue to support apps that don't update. They actually try, really hard, but they cannot do it forever.Google currently requires that apps need to target API level 29 or higher, this means android 10, if not... they will remove the app.
Changing app settings to meet this criteria may be as simple as changing the target API setting, although from memory there were some decent changes in Android 10 that may require rewrite of some code ,and maybe addition of new libraries, or at least updates to them.
This however doesn't mean that older devices can't run the app, that's controlled by minSdkVersion , it's just that newer devices can't, and that google will remove the app if it doesn't meet current specs.

Further to this, I just checked and the current AULRO App minSdkVersion is 26 which is android 8 ( Oreo) so it doesn't meet the minimum specs.
However...and I've never checked before...a number of apps I use also do not meet the current minSdkVersion, but they are still on Google play...go figure.
So maybe it's been removed for other reasons.
I'm thinking that the minSdkVersion is mainly used to stop new apps being added to the store that aren't up to spec, but most older ones are left on, for people like me with very old phones!

It must have only disappeared recently. I downloaded it about 3 months ago from Play Store onto my new Samsung tablet, but now I can't see it.

I should correct my earlier comment that new devices can't run older apps with lower minSdkversion API settings, this is incorrect, I don't know what i was thinking, but i am however very tired!
For anyone that can get hold of the last version of the app from somewhere... it should still run on newer phones.
