Some on here will remember Frank "Tank" Stanton, from Moruya in NSW.
I was saddened to learn of Frank's passing earlier this week. He passed peacefully in his sleep in the arms of his son Myles (also a forum member).
I never met Frank personally, but enjoyed many chats with him both in the forums and in PM's. Myles spent a bit of time with us over here in the West a few years back, before returning to NSW and his family.
RIP Frank - and our condolences to you and your family Myles. You have grown into a young man your father no doubt loved and was very proud of.

What a coincidence, only this week I wondered what he was up to. I enjoyed Frank's contribution and chats with him.
Condolences to Myles and the family.

Sorry to hear about Frank, he posted a lot of good info in the "Recovery" section IIRC.

I'm saddened to hear this and like Ian was only thinking in the last couple of weeks I haven't seen him on here for a while.
A number of us have had many good discussions with Frank over the years on the forum.

I was one of those fortunate enough to have enjoyed more than just forum contact with Frank. As Tuross Head is just a few kilometres south of Moruya, I lived close enough to be able to borrow the occasional specialist tool and to get help with tricky tasks on the Defender.
I enjoyed trips with Frank into Bendethera several times and a couple of times we introduced visiting AULRO members to the delights of Bendethera. I imagine that Ranga still has fond memories of our trip there several years ago.
I will miss his company as well as his help and advice.
We have lost a valuable member of our community.

I nearly missed this - I remember him by his forum name. I have (years ago) sold him an engine, also visited him. Nice bloke.

I used to enjoy his wise no nonsense posts, especially to do with recovery.
Maybe Aulro needs a section where people like him can have a place where the info they gave is preserved in context, with their pics as well.
Really astute contributors disappear with no warning all the time and it's a shame.
