For those the use em………just wondering yours operates. .

Happy with the one we use…..

one thing i notice is when running on the lower setting/watts I.e. 400w…….. it cycles on/off constantly to maintain the temp. No real issue with whats cooking I.e. temp on the frying pan stays pretty consistent.

Just wonder if there are brands of induction cooktops that when set at 400w…..it run at 400w constant rather than cycling between say 800 and 0.

Or do they all controlled by temp rather than watts……even when you can only select watts.

Maybe even household kitchen one do this as well? have gas cooktop ls at home.

Cheers

There are some more expensive ones that seamlessly regulate down to very low settings.

IKEA portable down about half then on/off.

ikea Smaklig which we have is great and cycles I think when on setting 3 and lower.

Using heavy cookware evens out heat so doesn’t matter. Esp heavy cast iron which is fantastic on induction!

generally anything under $300 will derate to about half power and then duty cycle below that.

the $99 one i got from kmart works well when set to 100 degrees but anything lower power cycles.

Em lead to believe they all cycle on/off when operating @ <1000w
