Can't imagine why. Perhaps Defender has become a dirty word. I suppose 8 letters is potentially twice as bad as 4. Anyway I wanted to share with you, the sad tale of Biddy being forced by circumstance, to work on the Railways.

Added the Nakatanenga rear door gas strut. Gamechanger. Door holds open now. Lift the handle and the door glides open by itself.
10 minute job. The air pop riveter I bought this year has been an absolute winner.

How did you get the tyre mounted on the bonnet?
I was under the impression that the TD5’s couldn’t have that.

South Aussie company manufacture the bonnet mounts. It’s a full frame that replaces where the bonnet mounts to the car then bolts through holes you need to drill through your bonnet. Not sure if I can name the company so I will send you a pm.

You’re taking the Mickey right?
Some of the nastiest, cheapest, harshest gear on the planet.
Great way to have a failure or rattle the vehicle to pieces.

TF are great, I've seen their shocks on a defender last for most of a weekend trip before, not all... But most of it.
The eyelet mounts seem to come off very easily.

This is Winston, he is an 85 Defender county V8, he has been my project for the last 10 months, in no way is he finished but enough that I could get him on club rego and drive him around, since getting him Registered Melb has been suffering massive rains so he hasn’t had his offroad debut. First pic is the day I bought him, he was never going to be a “restoration” build more a make him look good and drive him build
