Hi Everyone, this is my second post only so still finding my way around. I recently purchased a 94 D1 300 TDi manual 7 seater and am working through the list of jobs to tidy it up. One thing I would greatly appreciate is what options do I have with regards to replacing my standard white steel rims? E.g. do wheels from a similar age Defender fit? I have taken advice from others here and fitted an engine guard temp alarm and had the cam belt kit fitted so I am now looking forward to clocking up some kms.
Thanks & regards,
TonyC

Welcome to the forum.
Yes Defender wheels will ft.
BUT
Disco rims are 16x7" Defender 110 and 90 steel rims are 16x5.5" 130 rims are 16x6.5" and have less offset. I think the Defender alloys are wider.
What are you trying to achieve?

I really like the ZU rims or similar. They look the ducks guts on most LRs.

Thanks Tony,
I have no particular plan in mind, I was just asking in case it opened up another market of where to look. I.e. considering the Defender wheels as an option.
I would like to get alloy wheels to replace the original steel rims.
Cheers.

Try Range Rover Classic rims and mags.
Could be a more suitable choice of s/hand ones available for sale.
cheers

Why not just get Disco 1 alloy rims - there must be about 6 different styles for the D1 then there were aftermarket alloys from the same time period.
There are a few sets advertised on Gumtree,
Wheel Alloy 5 Races Original Land Rover Discovery 1 Range Rover RTC9526 Sivar | eBay (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/324686345267?epid=22022810907&hash=item4b98d07433:g:ycQAAOSw8iZcPHER)
and I am sure organisations like TR Spares in SA will also have them.

D1 alloys are plentiful and cheap, might even get some decent rubber on a set if your lucky.

Thanks to all for the advice. I did find a good set, with good tyres, from TR Spares. Thanks 101RRS.
