Where would you ever use these that a normal socket extension bar wouldn't be used? The fasteners would need to be only finger tight for them to be usable.

Would crows foot sockets do the same job ?

Tried with an open ended spanner but it started to destroy the lip, so wanted a closed 6 sided spanner so I can undo it.

To double chevron... cant get a socket onto it because of the bar that is in front of T/C where the drain plug is.:bat:

I've got a 1/4 " drive one that I use all the time. Just bought on a whim.

Thinking about the OP's question........... why not buy a set of 3 normal length and cut the handles off with an angle grinder?

Yep, but with the ratchet it'd be a lot of wiggling vs place, twist, replace, twist ....

The spot I can think of that'd be ideal for those is the turbo to exhaust manifold nuts on the TDV6.

We use ours all the time , good for tight spaces were nuts are tight on thread all the way off for your fingers & can't get socket bar in , especially under the dash . I recently did couple of jobs on my BMW A/C , would be still going with it without these small ratchets.

Next time I think I might need one, I'll just take the 9" grinder to one of the ratchets I have here ... I have several cheap crappy ratchets. You could make them "stubby" very easily. the most important bit would be a very soft ratchet action so you don't have to hold the socket to allow it to ratchet on loose'ish fasteners.

I ordered a Sidchrome 11-in-1 double end ratchetin spanner adapter set from Just Tools.
Was waiting on a small pump so that I could put the T/C fluid back in.
Did the job nicely this morning.
