How do i disable samsung free?

I am still on Android 8. My wife recently purchased a new samsung tablet with android 11 and all the add-ons were terrible to try to navigate through. A huge complication from the version 8. I got to disable samsung free by holding my finger on a blank area of home screen (I think) and then swiping left or right and there is a toggle switch there if I recall. I am not good at recalling that machine after all the changes I had to do to get it working simply... without the wife subscribing to every pop up that popped up!

There are special phones you can buy for the elderly - simple, easy to read and you preprogram commonly used numbers that go on the screen so no menus - unfortunately I cannot remember who makes them or where to get them.

If you can remember, let me know. I have two elderly parents that would benefit!

I was going to suggest an older Iphone.

You can increase text size .
You could only enter 2 entries in the contacts favourites .
You could not sign up an email account.

Texts could be a problem although you can ban numbers but only after a text. Hope he is not too gullible, although apple are far better with ads etc than android.

I have to say as an iphone user I find android phones to be fiddly and not user friendly, but that may just be because I am used to Iphones.
You may be surprised at what he wants to do with the phone like call any mates he may have left. At 92 they get a bit light on the ground.

The phone that I saw was being sold through some type of aged care organisation - was a couple of years back. My Mum cannot use anything with menus and would not be able to ring if you have to pull up contacts like all those phones listed.

The phone I saw had a large screen like a smart phone and you program in common contacts that appear on the screen - you just push one of the icons to ring.

I wish I took more attention at the time - most of those phones listed are not really geared to the oldies but just marketed that way - a bit like specialised pensioner insurance - is normal insurance marketed to oldies but charge more.

Hi Pedro,

This is the one you want: It’s a seniors phone, nice old school buttons.

Telstra EasyCall 5 with a Prepaid Sim from Telstra (https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/prepaid-mobiles/telstra-easycall-5)

Notice the 1 and 2 people icons under the red and green buttons - these are the two phone numbers you’ll program in.

Accessibility features here: Telstra EasyCall 5 - Accessible Telecoms (https://www.accessibletelecoms.org.au/telecom-home/device-search/mobile/telstra-easycall-5.html)

More info here in the manual: https://ztemobiles.com.au/wp-content/uploads/downloads/User_guides/T503_Help.pdf

Cheers
Simon

Hey Pedro - I have a couple of these Telstra Lite 2 on Telstra Prepaid Plans (https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/prepaid-mobiles/telstra-lite2) brand new in the box if you want one (or both). Only catch is they're locked to Telstra, and cant be unlocked.

Hi, I bought an Aspera F40 from BigW very cheap. This is ideal for the elderly or tech challenged.
