Removing the autobox output seal

Replacing my transfer case after I ran it out of oil and noticed a few drops of atf coming out around the automatic gearbox output shaft. How do I remove it so I get the new one in, I've only seen the seal pullers that work when there's no shaft in the hole?

One way is to drill a small hole in the steel ring and put a self tapper in then pull on the self tapper.
But usually with other similar shafts , you can still get a seal remover in next to the shaft.

Or….. small punch and pry once through.
