One of my boys has a Dargo hike tent (Aussie Disposals) and the aluminium poles have been damaged. The poles are aluminium, it's the bends (about 30degrees) that have split.

We tried Aussie Disposals without success, in fact they sent a pole set and it was wrong so we had to return it.

Any ideas where I could get a pole set or components to repair them.

Have you tried BCF?

Tent Pole Manufacturers | Replacement Tent Poles & Parts | Supa Peg (https://supapeg.com.au/products-new/wholesale-tent-poles/)
They have a few retailers selling their products plus do custom made too.

Thanks Kyle,
Found them but they don't list the very small diameter aluminium used for hike tents.

Try Remote Repairs.

Are you sure that the poles are aluminium? The only Dargo tent from Aussie Disposals I could find mention of had fibreglass poles and cost $99.95. At that rate it could be cheaper to buy a new tent, albeit not ideal from a sustainability perspective.

In any case, as far as I'm aware, you can replace an aluminium pole with a fibreglass one.

I has a bit of Aluminium tube on a camp chair fail years ago - replaced it with a bit of copper water pipe.
Unaware of what diameter you're after but might be worth a thought.

You can also get short bits of aluminium tubing to sleeve over the broken bits.

It's the 30degree bends that are a problem, the straight sections socket into them.
Fully aware of the joiners & alternative straight poles.

Finding some small dia copper and bending it might be an option but I recon it will be too soft.

The other option would be a 3D printer.

About thirty years ago I had a small Caribee tent with fibreglass poles with aluminium ferules on the end of each piece for the next bit to slip into. A few of them split from the pressure so rather than get them replaced to happen again I bound them with fishing rod binding thread over Areldite and then more Areldite to seal it all. Still going strong to this day.

One of the kids tried a 'bush fix' so I definitely need new bends.
I'll get one of them to put it up on a dry day and see if I can get away with a curved pole rather than straight sections with bends.

Hi Colin,
I have a Blackwolf Grasshopper 2UL tent. It looks to have the same pole layout, i(it actually looks to be the same tent) one long unit across the diagonal and then 2 other units that go from the corners to above the doors.
None of the pole segments on my tent have bends in them. However my Vango which is several years older has developed bends in the poles.
I am pretty sure the poles are 7075 aluminium - which is called "aircraft aluminium". I needed to replace a couple of segments on my Vango and found the best source to replace these was aliexpress, fleabay seemed a lot dearer at the time. It all comes from China anyway.
I couldn't get the segment length to match my poles so I had to shorten 3 of the new segments to replace 2 of the old, that way I didn't get a stiff section in the arch.

Cheers Glen
