Hi everyone .
Just ordered a new Defender X 110 .
My dilemma is which engine to choose . I have just come out of a 2014 RR sport diesel but thought I would give petrol a try this time .
Mostly country driving family trips and towing a mid size ski boat . Interested to hear from others of what they have gone with . Thanks

nothing wrong with the straight six diesels, far more frugal than the Petrol, better for towing, plenty of torque
and low down grunt. Diesels are also coupled to the MHEV = less lag.. If i was going to order again, it would
be either a D250 with 18" or the D300 and pay Tuff Ant to do the ADR certified 18" wheel conversion (rear
caliper swap).. As it is i have the P400, its a great machine, but in the long run it will cost me dearly when
it comes to towing our off road van which is due imminent delivery :)
edited: and i will be shortly paying Tuff Ant to do the 18" conversion to replace my 19" wheels, so more money
to shell out [bigwhistle]

Thanks for your input. I am going to drive both back to back tomorrow.

Drove both today . The petrol feels quick but in reality I think the diesel will be the choice .
The diesel has great torque and super quiet makes great power for a car of this size .
Would more buyers be buying diesel ?

Diesel = better economy, more torque, better for towing (in my eyes).
Petrol = no adblue, no dpf issues, no egr issues , quicker, less torque, worse fuel consumption.
Depends on what you intend to do with it.
I bought a P300.
