Well, I never thought I’d see it in my lifetime, but after being a long suffering Melbourne supporter for 45 years, the win tonight is a long time coming.

To the whole team and club - well done and my sincerest thanks for a season that is barely believable.

Still in shock, but very happy and tears shed.

Not a Melbourne supporter but I was pleased to see them win.

Didn't know you were a Melb Supporter Gav. I am also one a long suffering supporter.

Lots of celebration at my place. Just disappointed that I was unable to go.

Apart from last year, I have been to every grand final since 1999.

When the Bont kicked that goal half way through the third quarter, my son and I both agreed, with a lot of disappointment, that it was all over.

To then turn around and kick 11 of the last 12 goals of the game and win by 74 points was just amazing.

This is a fairly young side, so here is hoping that we might be able to snare a couple more in the coming years.

I will be watching the second half of this match many times, starting in the morning.

Probably not as bigger fan as you are mate, but I’ve been following this season more closely than I normally would with the start to the year they had - mainly thinking ‘when will they cock this up’ 😇

I was also thinking that if it had been at the G that you’d have seen it all live - hopefully there’s a repeat performance next year and you’ll be there for that one. 👍👍👍

Yep many time during the year I was waiting for the cock up. Games that we should have won with top spot on the ladder up for grabs and we lose it.

As for the drought being broken, I am hoping for a flood.

I have watched the 2nd half twice yesterday, one at home and when I went to the pub yesterday the second half had just started on their telly.

And just before typing this post finished watching the whole game again.

I think the reason you watched the game so many times is not the win by Melbourne but more of you being attracted by the eye candy that is voted the most beautiful stadium in the world

Natural turf for the Optus Stadium (https://www.sporteng.com.au/natural-turf-for-optus-stadium-wa)

(Also voted the best stadium in the country)

Settle down Gav. The whole stadium would fit in the MCC Long Room!

Maybe it would
But you could put Victoria into Western Australia 10 times

And a lot of Sandgroppers or wish we were again over here[biggrin] I got several photos from a cool mate at the game. Corporate box tickets for the lucky sod. Why oh why do I have so many WA mates who torment me with pics of BIG fish and BIG Surf and Big and beautiful places so often [bigwhistle]

The Dogs come back and lead in the 2nd qtr must have put some nerves on fire. Still amazed at the margin at the End.
Well done to the Demons and WA for the party.

Voted by who, the people of Western Australia.

I would back it in that most international tourists who put a sporting stadium on their lists of things to see would pick the MCG any day

Sorry d2dave, to break your big Victorian bubble, but the voting was done by a world wide panel

Prix Versaille: Perth'''s Optus Stadium claims top gong as world'''s '''most beautiful''' sporting facility (https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.watoday.com.au/national/western-australia/optus-stadium-claims-top-gong-as-world-s-most-beautiful-sporting-facility-20190718-p528ib.html)

And the best stadium in Australia was an Australian panel who put the MCG in its place (third) behind the Adelaide oval

Optus Stadium named Australia's best venue - Australasian Leisure Management (https://www.ausleisure.com.au/news/optus-stadium-named-australias-best-venue/)

Even the Victorian commentators that were on mmm radio in the weeks leading up to the grand final also had the same opinion about Optus stadium

My replay watch to date.

Game is one week old. I have watched 2 full replays and the second half twice.

If not for 2 interstate trips in the same week I am sure this would be higher.

Life long Demons barracker. Still celebrating!!
We have a family photo of me, 3 y.o., in 1964, wearing a hand knitted Melbourne guernsey that my Mum made. Mum embroidered "Number 31" on the back in white wool.
No one ever thought it would be this long between drinks.
I am going to get a replica made of that old guernsey and put it on when the flag is unfurled in Round One next year. Then I am wearing it all winter.
Very best wishes to all true believers.
