Where did you get it? Alibaba or banggood?

I've been eyeing off an Ender pro or V2 but can't get it past the wifey. I've tried the following reasons:
- 3d printers a awesome
- I can print a piece to fix our fridges drink holder, rather than needing a new fridge
- it's great for the kids creativity and education (they're 4 and 7 so it's a bit of a long game, but I can print them fun toys in the mean time)
- 3d printers are awesome.

None of them seem to work, or maybe I'm just not trying hard enough
If you can think of any other reasons/excuses I can give her that would be awesome. [emoji28]

Have done MANY jobs on my Prusa printer for around the house and on all of my landies. One of the more recent ones was a new horn button for early 86" landies, which are prone to having the button snapped when trying to remove it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210930/3524c6459894536e4c34a801eb7d7af2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210930/208e0e138975eba8b0a260427c82e87c.jpg

I bought 1kg of black of PLA but then read that one of the items is suggested to use PETG, what are the postits for ?I use ABS. A bit stronger than PLA. It's not rated as UV stable but I've never had a problem with it. I like it as its very easy to repair using acetone as a solvent.

I tried PETG but there was no way I could get it to adhere to the print bed. Went back to ABS as it sticks so well using a ABS slurry brushed on to glass.

Is anyone making seatbox corners?

I would be interested in buying some.

Levelling the bed…

Outdoors in the sun you’ll be better off with abs but you will need to manage the fumes

Watch some of the assembly videos on YouTube so you go about putting it together so it is somewhat reliable…

Just watched a few including some of the upgrades/mods you can do.

get used to the machine first before doing mods..

getting the rollers correctly set and the frame square at the start really makes life down the track much easier

i have a now heavily modified 3pro and its a great machine if you put in the time keeping things level etc

the more expensive machines need less tender loving care but the ender can produce what they do if you take the time to set them up properly

chep is pretty good on most things

The 3v2 has most of the goodies that you add to the pro so if your not going to be a tinkerer

Go the 3pro if you intend to fiddle and play with software etc

Some do and some don’t it seems

I put an upgraded board in mine as I went dual z and the std boards don’t do that well

My 3pro
174100

Lots of mods including direct drive, dual z, spring loaded spool, pei plates and custom software on by hardware and screen

And the prusa
174101

Stock except for 3rd party pei plates and spool

For me I'd get the V3 because it has a bunch of upgrades installed and the newer interface is a bonus. I'm definitely a tinkerer but I have limited time at the moment [emoji28]

Lots and lots with the pro running either marlin or the alternatives

I use a custom version of marlin and Repetier

The later models not so much because the display is somewhat custom and not generic stuff like the pro

Both will serve you well

Attempted to print an Anderson plug bracket I found on thingiverse but both times it gets to about 75% and falls over, I could add a support bit that adds another hour to the print time.
Going to see if I can rotate it 180 degrees so it will be self supporting.

So i think i made a boo boo, started to print a new gear for my rear wiper motor when all of a sudden it stopped and turned off - wtf. Turned it back on and the display was lit but no text showing and i found that i had badly placed a bull dog clip and the print bed was jammed. Removed the clip but no change on the display, checked all the wires and connections nothing out of place.
Fuse on the mainboard didn't blow and everything has power so possibly the firmware has died ?

Luckily i can print via USB cable so don't even need the display.

I hate having to junk perfectly good stuff - toys, bike lights, electronics etc - for the want of a small broken piece of plastic.

I take it that you can get files for different things off the internet, but how difficult is it to digitally scan something?
