Auto Electrician Melbourne to look at HDC Faults

Hi Folks,

Does anyone have recommendations to a good Landrover auto elec to look at HDC faults on my 2008 LR3?
So far I have replaced:

*brake pedal switch
*all brake globes
*New compressor
*New alternator
*New starter motor
*New Battery

Bloody hell

The guys at Les Richmond did some work on my front end and put it on the code machine but said there were too many codes to diagnose the issue. They are backed up to 8 weeks to look again.
Its becoming infuriating, sometimes it starts fine, other times there is nothing like its a flat battery just a click. Then sometimes it whirls like its the starter motor struggling. I switch off and then turn the key and let it do its check and it starts fine.

Genrally the dash says limited gears, Transmission Fault 'F' goes into lowered access mode, and occasionally it will say park brake fault. I rarely use the park brake as I know the discos don't like them!
Any help and recommendations appreciated.

Check the wiring harness behind the left front wheel. It's prone to unclipping where it runs along the chassis then being rubbed by the inside edge of the tyre causing the insulation to be worn away allowing the bare wires to touch each other.

A really cool gent who was at Ritters got grumpy with my prior D3 not my replacement one[thumbsupbig] He did after hours of looking find a loose connection on a part of the wiring loom. He found it testing the resistance on every wire until he found the one which varied! It was a process plus like you have had clearly. If your familiar with a multi meter You could do it yourself. Given the huge number of wires and crimp spots which could be the ONE pita for you I wish you luck.

In my case it was impossible to see the actual wire wrapped up in a loom of wires near the back left wheel. Once the actual culprit was flagged I think it was traced by putting power only in that wire and testing at several points to isolate the exact spot.

You definitely don't want an auto electrician, a landy specialist at the least.

Sounds like an earth fault to me. Check all earth connections and that you have the right alternator installed.

Clear all the faults and see which ones come back.
