Wanted - Hood Stick Kit 86"

Hi All,

I am after a hood stick kit for my 1955 - 86" Series 1. I know that Exmoor Trim make a set, but before I order a set I was wondering if anybody knows of a local set.

These things are starting to get hard to find - and very expensive.

I have spoken to Harry & Caroline, and Red Earth. I have spoken to a few local suppliers as well - no luck.

The Series 1 hood sticks are (I believe) slightly different to the Series 2/3 - in the way that they attach to the windscreen edge. I know that an 88" and 86" Series 1 kit is the same, because the extra 2" is in front of the firewall.

Any ideas? I am located in Melbourne.

Perfect/good/useable.

I can’t weld unfortunately.

I do have 1 part, not sure what it is called - basically an entire “stick” (a big U piece of metal piping that goes from one corner to another).

But that is all that I have - nothing else, no nuts/bolts/fasteners/cross bars. Not really sure what makes up an entire kit though..

Which hood stick do you have, rear (L), or front (R). in the picture?

Rear - the one that I have doesn’t have any brackets on it. Here it is174172

A lot of people are after secondhand parts because they're cheaper but expect 60 year old parts to be in perfect condition. These parts show their age but are in usable condition. If your L/R is going to be an ornament, then these parts are not for you. If you're still interested PM me your e-mail address so I can supply better pictures.

Just confirming what you said above - Series 1 sticks are not the same as 2/2a/3 (which are the same, or at least interchangeable)
