Hi everyone, Is there anyone in the Albury area that could pick up a spare wheel for me and take it to Aus post as I'm in Tasmania I can't get there and Pickles will not help with getting it to me, it should have in the vehicles spare wheel well but wasn't so the truck wouldn't take it as it was classed as a loose item, so they left it there.

I'll pay all cost and extra for fuel and any extras needed.

Baz.

That's a bit of a bugger. Is it a wheel and tyre? Aus Post won't take it if it is, or if it's over 20Kg - tried not long ago. E-Go no longer accept second hand car parts either, so it's getting hard to move things like this but hopefully it's not that hard for you.

Yes Tyre and rim off a Perentie, so far only one courier will do it, $300, I spoke with our local post office and she's given me a couple of options, but I still need someone who can pick it up from Pickles and box it or put it on a small pallet to be picked up.

Even if someone can just make sure it's boxed up properly at Pickles then I can have the courier company pick it up from Pickles.

Yes Aust Post is 22Kg and I am sure the wheel and tyre will be much more. Aust Post does have good shipping rates though - two springs weighing 7kg was $28 Cairns to Canberra where the best courier I could get was $130.

How much of a hurry are you in?

I might be bidding on some stuff at the auctions, if I win I've got a guy who can pick it up and store it till restrictions lift. I could get him to grab your stuff too.

Thanks mate, I need a spare sooner rather than later, I really appreciate the offer though.

I think we'll go with the courier.

Thanks Baz.

Hi Baz,
I can get if from Albury, or get my son to.
I can then pack it however it needs, and get it to the post office, or freight depot.

Let me know the details.

I'll PM my number.

Dave is the bloke in charge of Thurgoona Pickles, he let Aidan pick up the wheel, with a bonus Jerry can too.

Ness is organising the courier as I type this, would have done it yesterday but we had no internet for most of the day, came back about 4pm, something about a weather event knocking out some stuff, was a fine sunny day all day here yesterday:spudnikwhat:

I really appreciate all the work Tony and his son have done for us, Tony if you're ever in Tassie, you're welcome to stay here anytime, we are right in the middle of some of the best mountain bike trails in the world, Maydena Bike Park is 20mins down the road, as well as some of the best 4WD tracks too.

Well, Baz's wheel is on its way to Tassie.

I never found out if non transport folk can get into Pickles/Front line Machinery.

I got as far as the front gate, the security guard phoned "Dave" and the wheel was rolled across the yard, accompanied by another person carrying a jerry can, that apparently was also turfed out by the transport driver. I didn't have to sign for anything, so I'm not sure what systems they have.

The jerry can of petrol fumes was deemed too much like hazardous goods, so I get to keep it, WIN.

Did quite a few pick ups/drop to courier a few years ago for 'Bearman' - gearboxes, complete axle housings etc.

It's good to see the Land Rover camaraderie still exists. Well done TonyC & good to hear your son is still helping out with Landys. I haven't forgotten the time you both helped me after my rollover.

BTW Baz, when did you move to Tassie?

Hey Roger, good hear from you mate, we moved almost 7 months ago and love it, we made the decision after Kerry passed away to start again, we are on a 12.7ha farm with fruit trees, Strawberries, raspberries, vegies and Potatoes.

Best decision we've ever made.
