Lose too many players in an eco-system, and it will stop working. Climate change is just one driver in bio-diversity loss, on land it is humans destroying habitat thru farming, mining & logging , at sea , overfishing. That's putting it simply, of course. There are only two countries in the World who are not party to the treaty " the Convention on Biological Diversity", The USA and the Vatican. It's a problem humans ignore at their peril, that seems to be the trend . From the NY Times;
