I gave the Disco to the wife as the new family car as she loves to drive it.
It has a lift kit, king springs, Tough dog shocks etc etc and a TJM dual battery system.
5pm saturday receive a call from the wife shopping " I can't get the car started"
I thought it must have been the alarm battery in her key chain dead but in the background I could hear it disarming. I said call the RAC as I was at home with our 7mth old and no car seat.

The story is in a dual battery car she had flattened them both with a 5 hour shopping visit and the headlights on hi beam? I said what of the audible alarm when you leave the lights on and turn the ign off she said "I didn't hear it there was no alarm"

I dragged her kicking and screaming in the dead cold of night to do a keep the wax out of your ears experiment. "oh its working now"

If divorce wasn't so goddamn expensive and murder wasn't a crime How many single guys would there be.
Marriage the ultimate masochistic act.

And you only figured out now that they have selective hearing, selective thinking, selective saving, constant spending, selective sense of humor, etc etc etc<_<

We went into town yesterday to show the new baby off to work. She was guiding me into the park that I was backing into, and showing me a metre... and they yells STOP. She said she forgot about the tyre.

Then, she drives over my foot with the pram THREE times in the space of an hour and wonders why I was getting a bit agitated... LOL

She's pretty good overall though :)

Note:
You should change the alarm beep to a voice that says "Your make-up is smudged, and also your headlights are on"

:wasntme: :lol2:

A mate had a talking alarm years ago, complete with proximity sensors which, when activated, would trigger a spoken warning. That was pretty cool, but switching the language to Spanish was hilarious:D .

What's the chance of rewiring the headlight switch so it they get turned off when the ign key is turned off and / or removed? Just a thought.... Come to thinkof it I wouldn't mind a mod like that in my 93 D1. I often miss turning off the lights, given there is no alarm and the light switch is a tiny roller on the left stalk.... But I've not flattened the battery...yet...

Cheers, GQ

Should not be that hard, my Defender has on of them on it STD.

I think you would only have to run the power to the headlights via a relay that is powered by the ignition. No doubt there are other people on here who know exactly how to do it.

My Fender also switches the lights to parkers when the ignition is off.

And people remember if you are walking through a parking lot and a car has its lights on do the owner a favor and save their battery. How?

Kick the lights in:twisted: it will also keep the waiting times down for the NRMA/RACV etc

the old "overcharged battery" syndrome........

you can always spot a car with an overcharged battery.....they are the ones with the lights on......
always parked and locked up......

tjm dual battery controller....?
shouldnt it isolate the two batteries.....?
your main should have gone flat.....because the lights are connected to it....
but your auxillary should have been fully charged......you should have been able to jump start off that......
