Anyone have a lazer tools rear bush replacement tool that they want to hire/lend to me (Brisbane)?
Rear end is a little wobbly :)
Or, is one actually required, can i just get an ebay jobbie?

Did the whole rear end of my 03 L322 without special tooling but had access to a good 30 tonne press in my mates workshop.

I've used an ebay one to good effect on ball joints and suspension bushes and have got more than my investment cost back. One of these is what I've got 10pc Ball Joint Press Service Kit Remover Separator Adaptor 4x4 Garage Tool | eBay (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/143645493006?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item2171f0470e:g:-SIAAOSwPhdVOfvb&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACoPYe5NmHp%252B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkP rKr5t53CooMSQt2orsS9d9gBrkNbRQtRn8MVXnYkkHExhS5%25 2FuymnEuIj8WWf8ICnLjyIlYCHNh%252BFHZXr%252FiqnVjT4 3F8wUbGyD1RFlpTwKtbMNtFN1NW%252FlTVwMjkeX2kQkwh6aH KI0nTlY339dDNDtrSWkzyAd52pJDi2JwKAkcWt3J0RWtBGer3X uN2puRnnUONp22rfeisw%252BjJm3E4OFCpY80kRqOveGR2bGy bk5kVrCfh1mkKZEw5GHI%252BbBucKC0f1IaYbA0idt0t8Vs2Z eeA2HrbGRgHPuilYn21ch9PD9SnRG7xauQUKd8y9S3C69YU%25 2Fdlbwzb6c8CgX9ljdQv6SA7ni7SjRjOESKBktui1prkrGAxB8 yr1Mvnly8kWNAP0poELkn0m9GE40lfnGAu%252Bzfa0FQ%252B kfkf1fRFTB%252FucoLOxb92xA%252FaD%252BbiWqgwd5enOS AYnu0m7Uz24KJom7LVTNb3g3xNQmx31LxW748P%252F7XIZG5T 2BF%252FlTQElPJtoO3c%252Fm5U7jioQt2%252BDZOStM9%25 2Fh3UazWZtCce4HN7VfPgIvIgHu06LJc9rtaQuN9TDsR9YuQYG Afef%252ByJ%252Bjoq2ePDW4w0NIRX3h%252BfHl2IwhjAqmL HKe0uqja53RR0gH9rUtrMhwpEPf1TRrTbvd6PYX9GKCo1hQxEj vjY1zRgxSmwLjsptxZ6af3hC71Qo59ATuctt9922Dqi8QaE5MI qDAd7GhnAoEWxf66vXAek%252BXH1fgb%252F%252FFmuoTPy8 D4bIsmgSDaBKAlmmo2Yoyd3ZcP1J6R8yvASTxu%252BZrQZV32 8QjkdvfpKPw3SgbaeeDTL6amwQjEgAbF81T%252FmyIMnL6UZ3 uzUbBX5WYM8eqW44G%252Bwnu6A%253D%253D%7Cclp%3A2334 524%7Ctkp%3ABFBM9JGsm5tf)

Ah, ok. I found all them were stuffed so no point doing half the job and they aren’t hard to remove.

same here, loaned it out one was successful, loaned it out again and the threaded rod snapped. it wont do stuck joints, you get what you pay for.

I've not used mine on LR Ball joints, I did the front end of my Falcon RTV ute and have used it on series spring bushes as well as a few tasks maybe outside its design brief. I have kept the screw thread well lubricated though.

Looks like a member 'uteman' purchased a pair of the laser tools 5977 + 5978 but also appears to have sold his L322 in Jan so i suspect that he's not active and checking this forum.
Does anyone know him/have an email possibly to contact him?
Either that or I'm going to attempt w/ some ebay kit!

RRC ball joints............. split pin out, castellated nut off, bottle jack putting a LITTLE pressure on the underside of the ball joint thread, pin torch on only one small spot on the hub housing where the taper is, pops out without a really big bang.

Well, i went and bought this one:
27pc Universal Press And Pull Sleeve Kit Bush Bearing Removal Insertion Tool Set | eBay (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/274648943256)
Seems like it will do the trick.

I rented it off Uteman last time! He probably still has it...
If you have a very tight one (one of mine was stuck hard) get a stainless cap nut (as they are softer) tension the bushing removal tool as tight as you dare (I snapped a very strong threaded rod first go!) And put the cap on so it's on the nut for the tool... Then wail on it with a bolster... I got mine off with a lot of hammering, then tighten again, hammer again, etc.
Mine were original and only a small amount of surface rust but enough to jam one tight.
I recommend the lemforder bushes unless you like doing it twice...

Thanks for the tips :) Lemforder parts arrive tomorrow, hopefully i won't have to bash at it.

Well, got her done, ebay kit was fine apart from it busting a roller bearing and the nut head getting jammed in a tool piece!
See if I can get a refund..
Its a bit of a muck around and had to drop air out of the EAS to give me some ease of movement but follow your nose and no probs.
Cheers!
