What I find somewhat bewildering is that a tip off came from someone who saw the alleged kidnapper, buying nappies, when he doesn't have kids. Four year old children don't need nappies.

Not uncommon for a 4 year old to put a nappy on for sleeping.

Whoever took the child most likely didn't know that.
This is one of the best Good news stories that I have read in a very long time and a fantastic start to my day[thumbsupbig][bigrolf]

All of my kids wore cloth nappies so getting them potty trained early was high on the agenda[biggrin]

Yes,I remember those.They never fitted well,and that safety pin.[biggrin]

I remember walking around a newsagent once holding one of the kids and a couple of nuggets fell out onto the carpet in the shop….[bigsad][biggrin]

Not that I'm into such rubbish,
But, so much for all the obnoxious internet "Detectives" who said the parents just had to be involved.
Wonder if Mum & Dad will get as many Farce Book apologies as they did blame posts?
Really pleased to here she is OK.

A great outcome on the surface of things - I hope it is still a great outcome when all the details come out.

Hat's off to the WA Police, and the people of the local area who never stopped looking for her. Yesterday we went to grandparents day at our grand sons day care, he couldn't work out why he was getting so many extra hugs.

Someone found the guy's facebook accounts (plural), completely obsessed with those Bratz dolls and other childrens toys. My guess is severely mentally unwell and not just in the pedo sense. If he makes it to jail (it's either that or the loony bin) then he won't have a very fun time there

I don't believe the events were sexually motivated. The fellow in custody is a loner, quite possibly ostracised, just seeking company of his mental peers.

He will go to “protection”,and will be with criminals with same sort of offences.
Unfortunately they get looked after well and are kept away from mainstream inmates.[bigsad]

I didn't know the suspect's name had been released. I haven't read it anywhere. This is the problem with the modern media. They all want to be the first to release a new story that sometimes it gets released before it should.

The bloke who gets top marks in my book was the Det. Senior Sgt Cameron Blaine who had to be 110% certain it was her.

I fair had tears in my eyes.

What I find somewhat bewildering is that a tip off came from someone who saw the alleged kidnapper, buying nappies, when he doesn't have kids. Four year old children don't need nappies. I would suspect pyschological stress connected to her amygdala type response for her situation at her age may have induced a "need"for the nappies....
If that "response" and the kidnappers subsequent action in buying nappies helped find her it was a good thing.

A time when possibly ****ting your pants was a a good thing, eh?[bigrolf]

I learnt a new word today.....amygdala.

The suspect has now been charged with Child Stealing, I know not what the legal difference is between that and Kidnapping.
After 18 days missing, Cloe definitely appeared to have been well cared for. She was clean, nourished and not distressed.
I don't think the fellow who took her had any evil intent. That does not excuse his actions, but I believe he was not totally aware of the ramifications or consequences of his actions.

I suggest (a)

Child stealing maybe wasn't demanding a Ransom where (b) Kidnapping would.

It's really great that she's been found. From all the video footage, it looks like she's been looked after and I too believe the guy might be a bit mentally challenged. None of us can say if he had any sinister intentions, that will come out in the trial I suppose.
I'm glad she's been found, I'm glad she appears to be unscathed and I'm glad they've caught the guy and if he is found to be a bit loose upstairs, that he gets the help he needs in the right institution.
BUT! I'm really sick of the media telling the same story over and over again. In the first 3 hours, everyone had seen it on TV and had all the information they needed.
Every news bulletin is showing the whole story, with little or no updates and still calling it "news"! - maybe we can hit them up in a class action for false advertising.

We should be thinking about the absolute terror and anguish that the parants and other familly members went through over those 18 days that Cleo was missing rather than worrying about the kidnappers motives or mental state.
Regardless of the perpetrator's mental state it is blindingly obvious that he is a danger to the community.

And it doesn't take the vultures long at all. I guess it would have been the same had she been murdered.
