So I just try to login for the covid app on my phone as apparently you have to do that ...hmmm.... Try for 10minutes and give up.
Try from laptop .... it keeps denying password, then warns me it'll lock the account if I try to more times and prompts me to change password.
Change password.... I set it back to what I'm positive it is .... "You cannot re-use htis password, it has been used before " ...... AAARRRRRhhhhhhhhh
enter new password, try to login with new password.... it doesn't want to work either. "You have been locked out, account dissabled, you must create a new account" ....... AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
......
Deep breaths.... Don't smash PC .... its not the PCs fault.
"create new account" ...... We have sent you an email to create new account .... please enter number.....
I'm still waiting for the email. It's been 20minutes now. Guess I'll not bother with the covid certificate bull**** or whatever they want. It's just not worth the aggravation.
What gets me more than anything is the morons that think "the goverment is tracking them" with 5g ... or the covid immunasation being just a way for hte government to control you.... Talk about bloody fruitloops. The government can't even get the simplest of stuff working. Not even a simple website .... But yeah, your imunisation is all about using "nano technology" to control your thoughts [bigrolf][bighmmm]

The website is obviously not working properly. Rather than saying "please try again later", its allowing you to both retry logging in and allows you to change the password. But will not actually allow you to login. It just cycles through the retry attempts until it locks the account permanently.
My wife said "I'll try mine then" ....... AAARRRhhhhhhh.... NO WAY, don't llock yours out as well. The website is obviously having issues :soapbox:

I’ve had mixed results. It’s been fine up until recently but when I went back to check something on the ATO I found it had unlinked itself for some reason. I called the ATO and they said it had never been linked. When I showed them some details I’d already got from it they said it had been linked but not sure why it had unlinked. Asked them for a linking code but I couldn’t prove who I was to them so they refused…
So I still don’t have the ATO linked even though it was previously… [emoji19]

It is a PITA. If you put MYGOVID on your phone it does allow you to sign in via finger print if your phone supports that. MYGOVID also enables passwordless log on to mygov pita site.
I'ved helped hundreds at work with it- Security is needed yet :( I feel your pain every time someone comes near me with the guide to getting their covid certificate and a blank look on their face[bighmmm][bighmmm][bighmmm]
some -not all- You Tube guides are well worth watching.

Once you have your myGov sorted....to link your vaccination certificate to service Vic app:
How to add your COVID-19 digital certificate to Service Victoria app through myGov - YouTube (https://youtu.be/md7gldpy6vY)
Took me a while to work it out too....then I found the instructions!

I'm not new to this ... I've been using mygov for years for etax etc.... I'm also a computer programmer with 25years experience and am logging in and out of various systems everyday of my life. Be buggered it mygov would work for me tonight though. I'm guessing its not emailing me as my email address is already used. So now I'll need to try and create a new email address somewhere to get out of the "endless aggravation" loop that is mygov.
the security questions aren't as simple as you would think either and will almost always get them wrong. eg: what was your first car when you got you license .... Hmm, I had a few ... um. I wonder what i put in ....
I bet I used "Renault 15" ...... Oh wait, would I have typed "renault 15" or "Renault 15" ..... er ..... Oh ****, we i have entered "Renault 15... or renault 15, or renault fifteen .... or maybe Renault Fifteen ....
Think about it a bit more ..... Um.... I could have actually entered
renault 15
renault 15ts
renault 15TS
renaul 15 TS
renault 15 ts
Renault 15
Renault 15TS
Renault Fifteen ..... if you make all the combinations here. I could have entered any one of about 30 different answers that are actually the same for the same car [bigrolf]
Same deal for the "what street were you born in" or whatever the question is. lets see:
15 smith street
15 Smith Street
15 Smith street
15 smith Street
15 Smith St
15 smith st
etc, etc..
so the security questions can be almost impossible.

You're not alone here. Have had the same probs with gov and non-gov websites.
A mate's daughter can navigate this stuff effortlessly, so I'm going to pay her to get my double vax thing onto my phone, linked to the services vic qcode.

From a cold start the other day it took me about half an hour to get a NSW covid app on 16YO Daughters phone.
Create mygov account - confirm with email
Create and link Medicare account and link to phone for 2 factor authentication
Create Service NSW account
Set up Service NSW app on phone
Install medicare app on phone - not strictly necessary I found out later but it does give you an alternate way to access the vax certificate and put it in the wallet on your phone.
Export certificate to Service NSW app on phone - took about 3 goes
About half an hour from the start. Was much simpler if you already had the Mygov account and had it linked to Medicare as I have for my personal account.

Tote

Sounds a bit like the drama I had on this on a Monday about a fortnight ago. I persisted on it for a while, then eventually got on the phone - and after a couple of hours actually got to talk to a human - "It's doing this again, it happened on Friday last week, and it's all I have dealt with today" (about mid afternoon by now) "all you can do is try again later!"
I tried again the following day, and it actually worked, although I have to say I am unimpressed with the website, even when it is working as designed. I suspect the major problem (apart from the bugs) is the attempt to have one website do everything.

I thought I’d give it a go this morning…….
Wasn’t singed how for anything prior…….probably took me 40min to be able to print my certificate.
All done on iPhone.
I was rather surprised I managed to do it based on reading several bits and pieces across the net.

Never tried to use any of these My Gov heaps of junk. Our vax certifs. are the original hard copies issued by the GP, Copied & kept in our wallets, NO not the phone one the real leather buggers.
Don't visit Bars et al so not needed. Not accepted by anyone? Then they can go & **** themselves.
I bet they paid some geezers $millions to design something that causes honest, well intentioned folk to have a mental breakdown trying to do simple actions.
They, whoever "they" are, must be aware of the problems so why have "they" not rectified the situation? Still incompetent, arrogant etc? Probably.

They are like all Gov departments they just want you to give up & go away. We are just using the double certificate card the doctor gave us , I have laminated them so they will last , also taken photo of them with our phones.

Unfortunately you are correct in my book, & not just with Govt. Depts, try local councils et al or anywhere where it becomes too hard for those ****ers to even think. They are always "at Meetings" when you try to contact them AKA Coffee Breaks, & mostly they never ring back although the person (or machine (?)) taking the message assures you they will at the point of calling you a liar for even suggesting they won't.

Having done some work with government they are in meetings. I have never seen anything like it for meetings.
Do though have some sympathy for them as they answer to numerous bosses who can have conflicting aims all inputting into the one project and it cannot move forward unless all can be brought on board. This adds time and dilutes the results.
To compound this the final result will then not be what they wanted or planned when the program launched. This is due to the budget and available time had been already consumed. It then comes down to what can be delivered to meet the political deadline. Not what is best for purpose that can be delivered and when this can be delivered

The local Library my Mum goes to said they won’t accept anyone without a smartphone - she’s fine with that but her partner isn’t and couldn’t get in. I called the Council and Local Member about it and the next day they miraculously had a pen and paper at the front door. Shouldn’t have to go through that BS though.

MyGov MUST be awesome. I know this because work tells me so on a regular basis.
And the money invested into customer-facing systems (apps especially) is huge.
I assume that explains why there's no apparent investment in systems for staff. Some of them are still only compatible with IE for gawd's sake. (not Edge, Chrome etc)
Having done some work with government they are in meetings. I have never seen anything like it for meetings.
I believe the dinosaurs died out when they stopped collecting food, and started having meetings about collecting food.

Bloody ridiculous ain't it? The sign in method should have been there since Day1.:soapbox::rulez:
I suspect they are concerned that the pens will be nicked before the staff have a chance to take them home for little Johnny & Brenda to play with.
If the cops call & ask to see the records & they can't produce them they can round up everyone in the store & hefty fines can follow, especially for the Proprietor.
A supermarket chain here employs a young girl to clean & sanitise the pens every so often. I asked her as you do, if that all she does all day, Her reply was "Pretty Much"

Its not a problem if you have had cause to use mygov before, I had it all set up for medicare and tax so wasnt much trouble for me, It's just a chore if you've never used it before as it requires multiple identity validations to set up from scratch, It's a big ask for people who don't have the necessary skills though, but the complexity is necessary to protect private citizen information.
The process for importing the certificate into the Service NSW app seems a little less robust.

Mine worked fine until the ATO unlinked from the account just by itself, and I've been unable to prove I exist to them since to get it relinked - they want more proof than I can give them as they are saying I need to disclose my Passport details - I don't have a passport. Called them and the same thing "what's your passport number?". Me - Ï don't have a passport" Them - "We need one to varify who you are."
The fact they have my entire tax record on file doesn't seem to be enough, nor or the other details I can give them.

Would they back date it? I think not, but will gladly take your dosh for issuing another passport no idea what that costs these days, probably a million quid.
To add insult to injury the ATO will find some fault with it you can bet.

I can’t even get a passport at the moment - I’m trying to get neutralised - I mean naturalised - at the moment but I have the same dilemma - can’t prove who I am despite being here for 45 years. The Passport and Visa I came in on hasn’t been digitised so they can’t use that, they want details I can’t give them - like Dads current passport number - he’s been dead a while and his old passport was cancelled when he shuffled off. Have given them Mums stuff, her Citizenship details, my Brothers passport and Citizenship details, they have confirmed my status as a permanent resident and have everything else but the system doesn’t have enough information to “prove” it’s me, so the application is on hold until I can figure that one out.

Weird eh? They always seem to find & recognise you when they wish to send a Tax Bill I suppose. Wasn't a fillum made about someone like you. "The Man who never was". Slightly different circumstances I know, but at the end of the day they amount to the same thing. You are a nobody.
Your 45 years without taking out Citizenship is a bit risky though. As has happened, Govts change & the rules change. Being a British subject in Oz used to be taken for granted but that changed when Gough Whitlam moved in (& out) Now it seems one has to jump through/over hurdles.
'er indoors could see the writing on the wall & took out Citizenship as soon as she was able. An ex UK friend of ours was of the opinion that it wasn't necessary but quickly changed his mind, when he had travel problems with Visas /Entry Permits & being barred at the border from OS ,his missus was an Aussie so she was proven right.
Glad to see you are now taking steps, albeit difficult ones at the mo.
