So when you have a mechanical problem that you can't do or don't want to do who do you take it to my Disco goes to SBL Automotive in Acaia Ridge found them to be very good and friendly nothing is a hassle so where do you all go for the jobs you don't do.

Yep, Shane and the boys are brilliant, not just mechanics, enthusiastic and passionate too.

I think finding a good mechanic/technician who really understands Land Rovers, is passionate about them and quality customer service at sensible prices is crucial to owning one, if you are not that person yourself as many on here are.

I’m out in country Victoria where it has been even harder. Fortunately people on here have just put me onto someone, where my head gasket is getting done right now.

Hopefully these lot will be all of the above

I have had a very good run from MR over probably close to 20yrs,but they are 3 months behind with bookings ATM.

Had something done at Ricks on the Coast,he was good as well.

Another vote for SBL here. Shane has also provided excellent follow up service.

iInDarwin I can highly recommend Leigh and Racheal at Darwin Landrover(LR AUtomotive) 54 Albatross St Winnellie. Entrusted Leigh with Chaffy for the past 5years. Theyhas provided outstanding service for me over that time. Was just recently in Darwin and paid Leigh and Rach a visit. Landrovers everywhere. Joked they need another bigger workshop. Like everywhere it is a wait, minimum 4 week to get in for service.
cheers Chris

Hey Dingo,

I’m out North Central VIC near Castlemaine. Are the lot you are talking about a reasonable distance from me?

Need a couple of things done above my pay grade and not excited about driving to Melbourne to get them done. Used to use LRA. Andrew was always great.

Just got my D2a back from Autofarm & Engineering in Kilmore East.

Lots of items done including;

Fuel pump
Roadworthy
Window regulator
Back brakes
Wired up the Hella Rally 4000's
Had a look around the car for me & indicated it was worth saving
Clips, badges,
Rear window wiper

Very Happy with their service and advice.

Thanks Chuck, good to know. Mine is there now awaiting gasket head to be done. I was really worried the gasket head would mean it was all over, but having spoken with them and hearing their initial assessment of the problem, they certainly seem to be on the ball and seemed confident the motor was in otherwise good condition and should be ok with new head and gasket.

Ive heard other good things about them, so all being well they will now be my go to techs.

Hopefully she’ll be back with me soon running like new

Hi Chuck and others that recommended Auto Farm - Brilliant.

My mechanic told me head gasket and likely slipped liners on my Disco 2 $6,000 plus bill. He said probably not worth the money as already has 180,000km on clock.

Rang Auto Farm on all your advice. Advised not to drive and to RACV to them.

They assessed it and diagnosed blown head gasket ‘internal’ nothing else major, half the price of my mechanic.

Got her back today and the boys did some other bits for me, full service, wheel alignment, headlight clean up, etc. They gave it a good bill of health and itÂ’s running beautiful.

Top guys that are Land Rover passionate, very reasonably priced and highly professional.

Really impressed!

I thought it was all over for my Disco, but not at all.

Auto Farm are now my go too Land Rover Gurus.

Thanks all,

D

I take mine to Sydney to Davis Performance Landys. I cant speak more highly of my experiences with Bruce, Tino and the team and likewise with the work.
