Caravan

Picked up the caravan on Monday, that I paid for back in June just before NSW went into lockdown.... drove it home straight away from Coffs . This one is a Bushtracker 19' , and weighs in at about 2.7t (supposedly). Compared with the previous caravan ( a single axle 2t Jayco) this one is quite a bit more noticeable behind the car to tow... Fuel economy suffers a bit too... while on the trip there my dash was indicating between 7.5 and 8 l / 100km, but on the way back with the caravan it was 17.5 to 18 l/100 km.... which I guess is expected since the overall weight that I am trying to pull along has more than doubled with the caravan on. (interestingly, it seems that as the fuel in the tank gets less, the indicated l/100 km increases .... anyone else noticed that?)
Lots of learning and re-learning now ahead before we take a trip over xmas.

Fuel use sounds about right. Bushtracker's are not known for their light weight, plus another axle to contend with makes a considerable difference. My 3.5T brick (raised suspension, so more wind resistance) has got as high as 24L/100km at worst, and I normally only cruise at 85-90-95 depending on road conditions.

Thats about what I get with Rosie,, at around? the same weight, at 115 the bloody turbos keep spooling up[bigrolf][bigwhistle]
