Ok not sure how the link will show up but just saw a D2a for sale, looks nice but I thought the price was a typo.. $48k.. nope, that's the price, it's got a Brunswick Diesel not sure if 6.2 or 6.5 but NA so would sound good but not much go really. The add says that the conversion cost nearly that much. Personally if I spent $40k+ on my Landy it would have something like an LSA, 6 speed auto and 9 inch diffs (or portals) but each to there own
Just thought it was an interesting conversion

Cheers

Yep my thoughts exactly, possibly mid $20K for an enthusiast but $48K for a Brunswick (I'm not really a fan..) or if they had transplanted a BMW N57 twin turbo and 6 speed auto then that might be worth some $$$ but even then only a very niche market

but good luck to them, would be interesting to see what it finally goes for

cheers

Hard to see how some people are able to get conned into parting with a huge wad of cash to fit these heavy asthmatic pieces of crap .
If they really wanted similar performance to that engine they could've just disabled 1 injector on a standard td5 and chucked a bunch of concrete under the bonnet to equal the weight.

Sounds better than a crappy td5 too[emoji1]
I would say it goes better than a 79 series cruiser

Tuned Td5's sound great when on song
most things go better than a standard 79, but your mates must be boosted to do that

Yes he had the turbo, not a lot of boost though, and the 79 is boosted as well.

These things are more like a tractor[emoji1]

Try a 2.7L or 3L V6 if you want lots more grunt.
Put a tune on the ECU. A lot less money.

I'm with Discorevy on this one, yes we all love the sound of a V8 (and a rover V8 most of all), but the tuned TD5 has a beauty all of its own.
