During the Korean War, the Scottish Battalion that was part of the Commonwealth Brigade was on the ship alongside, waiting to embark back home , during a normal rotation. Then they heard the Aussies were in trouble at Kapyong, and many jumped ship and tried to get back to help their Aussie mates. The Redcaps stopped them of course, but the legend remains .
