Hi All,

I am keenly watching this lot on the current Pickles/Frontline auction website and am wanting to know if it is possible to license an SRV.

I know that a few have come up in the last couple of years but from what I read, I am not sure if you are able to license an SRV as I don't think that there is a compliance plate.

Are there any SRV's in private hands licensed even on special club plates?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Regards Warrick.

I have seen a few pics of them with civilian number plates so I guess you can get them on the road.

I'm sure there is a process of getting a vehicle reg'd that doesnt have a compliance plate.
Other stuff they seem to have gotten tougher with such as removal of bonnet hardware, lifting hooks, jerry can racks both on the rear and sides, antenna mounts, additional seats.

The only other item I see that might need removing is the rear folding deck and possibly change the side doors over to standard 110 door (until its all reg'd right?)

$61,000 at the moment:no2:

That is $61,000 plus buyers premium and GST!

Still 22 hours to go until the end of the auction.

I wonder if there will be a late flurry of bids tomorrow afternoon!

Going to be one hell of a spend on a 4WD, soft top with no soft top, Perentie!

Regards Warrick.

Hey Warrick it's $61,000 GST included, I just purchased an Perentie FFR myself a month ago, all charges was included in the price, loving ours.

Ridiculous the prices some of these vehicles go for, it's actually sitting on $60,500 with only two blokes bidding for it and all they've done is jacked the price up for each other, silly really.

Pickles must have a different set up to when I purchased my RFSV through Grays Online Auctions a few years ago.

GST and buyers premium was added on top of the final bid price. My mistake.

Did anyone on the forum see what price it ended up selling for. I unfortunately missed the end of the auction.

That's how auctions work!

That's how auctions work!

Not when I purchased my RFSV from Frontline Machinery through Grays Online.

Hammer Price + Buyers Premium +GST

Pickles have a better system having it calculated all in the hammer price.

Does anyone know what the 98 SV Perentie sold for? Last time I checked it was at $61500 going up in $500 increments.

Regards Warrick.

What I meant was only two bidders pushing the price up. I remember an auction for a Centurion tank - only two were bidding at $18k, and it went to $30k before one dropped out!

I was not referring to how fees are done - that varies enormously from one auction company to another, although typically (but not always) the buyer has to add GST to the bid, and there is sometimes, but in my experience not often, a buyer's premium as well (which has GST added to it as well!), and the seller usually has a premium as well.

But these arrangements depend not only on the auction company, but the venue, and the class of goods being auctioned.

Hi Warrick, I went and checked my paperwork, there was a 1% Admin fee from Pickles, all other fees were in the price, I didn't see what it went for but I reckon one of the Perentie facebook groups will know.

EDIT, just checked on Land Rover Perentie Owners Facebook group it went for $60,500 to the bloke in Casino NSW.

Looks like this was the winning bid then.

This is the most expensive 4x4 Perentie I have seen sold in the last 6 years.

Yep a stupid price, the dearest before this one was an Perentie GS or FFR (can't remember which) at Pickles Hobart, it went for $42,500 at the last auction.

Looks like the price of Perenties is still going up! Even some of the Cargo variants where over $25K when I checked with a couple of hours to go.

Not sure if the SV went higher as it still had a couple of hours to go as well when I took the screen shot.

There must be a few people out there that really want an SV.

Regards Warrick.

Amazing prices .... perhaps also because of the low kms? But I understood that the kms on the Perenties might not be correct, as odometers were swapped around and replaced from time to time?

100% correct - a better indication is the hour meter.

I know someone that has 2, paid $18k for one, and in his words, paid too much for the other $30k.

That is unbelievable! I am flabbergasted that the bidding went that high in the last 2 hours for the SV. Must be more than one person who wants to pay that sort of money for an SV to push the price so high!
I personally think that the RFSV is a better vehicle to live with but I am assuming that these SV’s are not going to be driven regularly. Maybe that they will be housed in personal collections?
Anyway did anyone track how high the other 4x4 Perenties in the March auction ended up going for?
Regards Warrick.

Yes no doubt was just looking at the price at the end of the hammer, it did continue on for something like half n hour after the auction finished.
