I've got a dead 03 2a in the driveway, and the misses has had a gut full.
She's gotta go (the 2A, too expensive to turf the woman)
I'm very happy with the '99 series 2 that is my daily driver - this will be my "till I die" car
What hard to get / mega$$ bits are worth stashing away long term from the 2a?
already on the list is
Engine, (maybe just the head)
ecu
Door tops
leather steering wheel
front prop
Just looking for ideas
Cheers

Murphy was born in a Land Rover, whatever you bush will turn out to be the bits you need, in inverted proportion to cost and availability.

Yep. The stuff off the one I recently stripped ( you got the ACE pump ) is sitting here getting in the way and the things I need have gone for scrap....

Rest assured the ACE pump went to a good home. Serving its original purpose beats going to scrap. [smilebigeye]

Glad to hear it. Taking it off made the rest of the TD5 easier to manage. Not.

What is it you need off a TD5? I have a 10P here.

Yep. They are eyewateringly expensive for some obscure reason. Mine didn't have one, or I'd be advertising it.
I'd definitely add the XYZ switch if it's an auto. And the SLS compressor if it has that. ACE pumps are worth it, as they cost $$$$, unless you are like me and give it away to a Super Moderator[bigwhistle]

I'd be tempted to pull the wheel hubs and maybe the front CV's I'm a bit hoardery tho. I'd grab the rear prop but only to avoid having to keep it off the road while you rebuild it. The front plenum plastic bit and rear bumper if they're in good shape. Door lock assemblies are $$

I have pm'd you.
It was more along the lines of don't scrap the bottom end, I have a top end in the shed and would be fun to see if they can play together. it is a 10p top end though so they may not be so nice together.

After reading ask this it's pretty clear, you obviously need to keep the whole thing, how you go about doing that and keeping the Mrs happy is entirely up to you....
