BAS Tool on non Landrover

Got a “check engine” light come on in my ‘other’ car. (It’s a Kia)
Any chance my BAS tool will read/clear it??
Any risk I can stuff anything by trying?

$39 dongle from OBD2 Australia works on most cars even on my D3.
