So after a fair bit of rain up here I got the dreaded 3 Amigo's that seemed to pop up after a high speed drive through a deep'ish puddle.
Didn't worry about it till a week of dry weather as I thought what ever it is would dry out. Nope.
So ran a scan on it with the only codes coming up as the rear right wheel sensor and a CAN fault with the ABS module. I brought up the live data on the wheel sensors and all are working normally until the 3 Amigo's re-appear and I loose all comms with the ABS Module.
So I ordered a second hand (Reco'd they say) ABS module from the US for $300 delivered. Hopefully that will sort the issue.
Then I'll pull apart the old one and see if I can repair it for a spare.

ABS module failure is commonly fracture of the sonic welding on the hair-thin wires inside the unit. You need special equipment to sort it. I suspect there is some programming required for the swap as well!
I had mine repaired locally when it went, too many corrugations!

The ABS module came in the other day from the US. So I fitted it and programmed it.
So all is good so far. No warning lights after a 100km and everything is working like it should.
Lesson learnt, the 3 amigos is the ABS module. (just the plastic part, not the whole ABS module).

Happy to hear its sorted for you, how did you program it out of interest?

I programmed it with my Launch X431 V+. It's as capable as a Snap On just much cheaper. I pretty much can do anything, on anything and I haven't come across a situation where the tool can't do what I've needed.

So I might have spoke too soon on this one.
After a few hundred KM with no problems the 3 Amigos returned and I lost comms with the ABS module just like before.
I didn't get a fault code just a "Steering angle plausibility fault" with no code. I checked the live data on my steering angle and in the straight ahead position it was reading -14deg (I do have a bit of slack in my steering rack).
So I checked live data again and held the wheel at Zero'ish and recalibrated the steering sensor. That seams to have worked so far after another few hundred KM.
Will keep you posted if I any more issues pop up.
