Surround camera (360 degree) installation

Hi All,

As you all are aware that in the new RRS to be delivered in 2022 will have their 360 cameras replaced by rear view cameras. This is due to semiconductor shortage worldwide. Checking with you experts if there is a way to have the 360 cameras installed else where? I checked locally at supercheap, Repco and Autobarn and none of them have any kit supporting surround cameras. Please advise. Thanks.

Can't help you Rajs, but I am surprised. My RRS ultimately had a production date of 11 Oct 2021, with handover 21st Jan, and has 360deg cameras. Dealer assured me that chip shortage did not affect this delivery, even mentioning HUD, which apparently had been deleted from some models(?).

It can be done, but falls into the "not financially viable" category.

Unless you're happy to spend $10k on a retrofit...

Thanks for your reply. I think i missed by a month or so. my car was in production early december 2021. I tried contacting the head office in UK and they mentioned all cars in production november onwards are effected [bigsad].
