the whale that John is talking about is a large skate on the end of Navy Divers line. they tend to cup their body and use the force of the current to make it hard to retrieve them.

It was a bloody whale, Mario. At least compared to that flatheaded sardine it was. Pity i didn't get a pic of THAT.

Texted to Mario the other day saying it was easier getting him into my boat with that boom than my dad this week. O.M.G. my Dad is heavy. Dementia and balance issue did not remove his big smile or his rubbishing my boat either [thumbsupbig]
