Hi all,

Does anyone know a cheap place to get rear defender mud flaps. I'm on the Gold Coast, so the closer the better.

Cheers
Jimmy

A cheap option could be to put truck mudflaps on it they look like a similar size to the defenders. They wouldn't have a land rover emblem on them butyou could get mud flap girl on them instead

*I am sure we're digressing her - but........

I have them on my mad flaps! (the chrome naked chick silhouettes)

and they are officially called 'Wenches' for our 4wd group - Everyone that joins us - gets 'Wenched' !

they cost about $8 from our markets in Sydney!

lol!!

go on - Wench your vehicle! - WHEN you get the mudflaps you're actually asking about  - lol

Contact a urethane moulding company.

Buy a 1000mmx1000mmx 4mm Sheet of black urethane.
Cut to desired shape.

Lasts forever, doesnt crack like rubber or tear or rip.

Does 4 full size with some left over.

Cost $40.00

I just got some rubber from my mechanic, he somehow got big sheets and I cut the mudflap out of it. Their the good stuff with the threading inside. I also used it as grip for passenger side step, with the aid of a rivit gun.

Conveyor belt is great if you are not worried about looks. Truck mudflaps are also great and very long lasting. I have some on mine that I got from a local Truck shop / workshop. About $10 ea. A lot thicker, more flexible and longer lasting than the crappy LR ones. Most Truck shops will either stock generic ones or ones with their name on them. Flash pic ones are usually dearer. Compared with buying 4x4 mudflaps from an auto acc shop they are peanuts. I have seen them up to $100 a pair from auto acc or $200 for things like RM Williams or CAT. Most will need a bit of cutting and trimming to fit, but the original frame plates on a Defender can be used, just gring off those stupid rivet thingies and replace with stainless steel bolts and nyloc nuts.
