If previously ordered a MY22 model and have been advised that this is no longer available, but you are offered a MY23 in its place, beware. Not sure it applies to all models, but our SE MY22 order which has been changed to a MY23 no longer has Grained Leather seats, nor Leather Steering wheel/gear knob as standard. Headlights have reverted to Premium LEDs instead of Matrix - although I only ever had this verbally (email) from the dealer and not in the contract. Was never in the MY22 configurator as Matrix.

That is apart from the 11.4 touchscreen they are not able to provide and the Interactive dashboard which is now an analogue version! I am sure there are other things that may have changed as well. All this with a price rise, not decrease, although the dealer has agreed to absorb!

Reconsidering my options - cannot believe a ~$120K vehicle doesn't not have Leather seats.

Information from my Dealer for reference

Changes to specification applicable for MY23 D300 SE 110:

Added:
- Wireless Device Charging – Standard
- Activity Key – Standard
- 11.4” Touchscreen – Standard
- Carpet Mats – Standard

Removed:
- Click and Go base units - removed from seatbacks
- Power Steering Column Adjustment (now part of a pack)
- No-Cost Matrix LED Headlight option - Premium LED Headlights with Daytime Running Lights & Auto High Beam Assist are Standard and Matrix LED’s have become a $1,600 option
- Full TFT Driver Display (awaiting confirmation as we have conflicting information at this stage)

Changed:
- Rear seat row 12V to be replaced with fast charging USB-C

- Premium Soft “PVU” synthetic leather-like alternative replaces Grained Leather
PVU has been described to us as near identical in look and feel to grained leather yet significantly more robust, durable and environmentally responsible.
Grained Leather can be optioned and comes together with the Cold Climate Pack (Headlight washers, heated steering wheel, heated windscreen & heated washer jets), Leather Steering Wheel and Leather Gear Selector upgrades. Total cost: $1,960

- Gear selector and Steering Wheel Dinamica Wrapped (Soft Durable Synthetic Material) – Standard

- Manual Steering Column Adjustment – Standard
Electrically Adjustable Steering Column is no longer available separately and requires an upgrade to the Premium Interior Upgrade Pack, Windsor Leather upgrade, heated and cooled front seat upgrade, extended leather upgrade + more). Approximate $5,000 combination.

The official specs thats 11.4 infotainment display and fully digital driver display is standard.

But we were told by the delear that these are not avaliable with new orders due to shortage.

Correct - I have been given same advice for my D300 SE with a build date of 18/2/2022. Apparently still supplying on X models. Not sure about Discoveries.

You'll possibly not get a straight answer from a dealer until you have a build date. This will determine what they can and cannot supply.

I also understand that the Electrically Adjusted Steering Column may also be effected by shortages. This is not an option I requested, however dealer mentioned this when reconfiguring build to include leather seats. Said they had difficulty ordering the Premium Upgrade Interior Pack, the availability of the Electronic Steering column being the issue.

I was advised that the 2 x 12V at rear of centre console would be replaced by blanking plugs! Hopefully your advice is correct - assuming we are talking about the same thing!

They are available but only on higher specs. Also come up on my vista sheet. M

I am intrigued by the way the dealers seem to be able to just change the spec on ordered models and you have no say in it.....

Is money changing hands on these orders?

Only a deposit. In my case, the dealer offered refund of deposit (which contractually they have to as they were not able to supply the originally quoted vehicle - MY22 model) or to continue with a new order for a MY23 model. As indicated above, they absorbed the price increase, but changes meant sticking with lower (marginally - no leather) specification or optioning up.
