An eruption of this kind is far above the normal. One of the largest explosions this century, a shockwave of 600 MPH, causing pressure spikes on the other side of the Planet. Volcanologists have never seen that before.

Aid being flown to Tonga from Australia had to be turned back after a crew member tested positive for COVID. Tonga is COVID free ATM, and all aid has to be contactless delivery. From German News outlet, DW.

NASA declares the eruption was larger than a nuclear explosion, behind Mt St Helens in 1980, and Mt Pinatubo in 1991.The tsunami waves generated were estimated to be 50 feet high.
