The Hunter class Frigate... another Australian shipbuilding failure

Can't they get anything right? The Hunter Class's own engineering team has completed a system design review exit report, and it is not good. Australia wanted some design changes, but they increased the size of the ship from 8,000 tonnes to over 10,000 tonnes. Blind Freddy knows- increase the size of the ship by 25% but don't increase the power plant, performance suffers. The Hunter will not be able to keep up with other front line assets , and fuel consumption is such they can't go as far, either. Lack of power means the CO has to decide between the CEAFAR2 Radar, or the propulsion system. In the middle of an attack, needing both to fight incoming missiles or move fast, you can't do both. There is a list of problems, leading to suggestions the RAN should have chosen a modified Hobart class , which would have been cheaper, and already in construction. There is more, but fair dinkum, can't they get anything right?
