I've been bitten by the bug.

Took my 1996 Disco down south to Denmark for 4 days over the weekend. She's stock standard at the moment she had never been of the black top, until i got her the closest thing to offroad was driving over a curb.

Anyway did about 1700km of touring, the most comfortable driving I have ever done and ...

I took it off road!!!

It was only really soft stuff coz I was playing it safe and didn't have recovery gear or even a compressor :( and the tracks were soft sand, but I was able to get down some and have a look at boat harbour:

The following day saw us at various wineries - Its a good way to get a free drink and the disco didn't look out of place at all.:D

Our last day was spent in Albany and Torbay, including the track out to West Cape Howe a bit bumpy and a whole lot of fun. We got halfway down and then the signs suggested the rest should be left for next time:(

Two things were leart over the weekend:
1. I want to do it again and again
2. I'm blessed coz the missus wants to come too!

As some one once said:

" it is not the destination...but rather the journey"

Excellent, better sign up for the next Harvey trip then, although we were thinking Lancelin dunes might be the go next time.

(Although raining at the moment..........Harvey..........muuuuuud!) :)

LOL funny story, was up at Coral Bay in March, missus was talking to a couple on the beach who had some daschunds, later told me they were from Denmark. I started off with how did they get their dogs through customs????  :D

Frenchie, They weren't an older couple - John and Judy by any chance??
if so their good friends of the family and used to provide child care for my younger brother. they gave that up and started looking after a holiday house thingy in Denmark. We stayed there twice a year but they also maintained a place in Coral Bay. they had two daschunds as well.

Well thats my ramblings anyway.

BTW frenchie, do you own a brown Rangie? was driving through Perth hills a few weeks back and one flashed its lights and waved (it was all very enthusiastic :)). Was it you???
