Hi All,

Looking at getting a set of seat covers for the D4 to protect from kids & dog. Had neoprene on the previous 4WD and they were great for beach trips so would go them again.

So far I'm looking at Wetseat and Supertrim, would be good to hear if anyone has them (or others) & thoughts. The Supertrim covers are about $200 cheaper for a full set than Wetseat & are Australian made.

Hadn't come across Inland - turns out they are the parent company for Wetseat.

Weseat have a 35 day turn-around for dispatch. Will see if Supertrim are similar.

I cant help as mine are canvas, but are the neoprene car seat covers sweaty or do they make the car smell of wetsuit?

I'm keen to know this too - especially for use in hot climate.

I've had a set of black sheepskin covers on the front seat virtually since I bought my D4 in 2011 - they are just about due to be replaced. So I am looking at other options possibly, or may just go and get another pair of decent quality sheepskin covers.

Had a set in the previous car which were great for protecting from kids / dog and very good for beach work. Didn't have them from new but no smell or sweaty seats in the heat, They also fitted & felt nicer than most of the heavy duty canvas covers I've used in work vehicles.

Sheepskin would be a good alternative if you were sure of no spills. I did see one D4 when looking to buy that had sheepskin front & neoprene 2nd row.

I have a set of Kings (made in China) that were on the D3 when I bought it. Other than them not fitting particularly well around the seat base I’ve been quite happy with them over the last 4 years. They are black, but they don’t seem to hold the heat in the sun. No smell, no real issue with sweat.

I’m looking at sheepskins next but I’ve been waiting for these to die and they just seem to keep going.

Do the supertrim covers extend down the back of the middle seats? The carpeted seat backs get covered in hair from the dog when she's in the boot.

Supertrim have stated a 1-2 week manufacturing timeframe compared to over a month from wet seat so thinking I'll go with them.

sorry for the delayed reply.

I hear you re dog hair on the back of the seats. Yes they extend down the full back.

Most of these don’t cater for D3 with their headrest. Anyone have a good recommendation?

Canvass seat covers work just fine and the only advantage of using neoprane would be if you are continually getting into the car with a wet arse or if you have trouble controlling your bladder.
Canvass stays relitively cool compaired to neoprene so sweat wont be as big a problem either.
Neoprene is a fantastic material for wet suits and stubby holders, Not so much as a seat cover[biggrin]

Hmmm, no issues with the factory leather after 11 years and many beach and bush runs, dogs, kids and camping gear. A decent quality leather cleaner and balm/moisturiser seems to keep it looking good.

Yes, dog hair sticks to rear of the 2nd row, but a decent vacuum soon sorts that out.

Neoprene belongs on wetsuits and canvas on tents, leather in my cars thanks.

NB: the wetseat stuff does look like it's well made, just not something I'd buy.
